The Ballston Spa Rotary Club on Nov. 15 presented the Ballston Spa Board of Education with a $3,000 check to provide Rotary support the school district’s weekend backpack program. which sends nutritious food home on weekends with elementary students who may be going hungry when they’re not in school. The donation meets a significant need in the community, and the club wishes to thank Rotary District 7190 for providing a district foundation grant to support the program. We had a very successful Village Clean Up Day!
We cleaned up Wiswall Park and the Veterans Memorial Park, did a little painting on the sign post by the Soldiers Monument, cleaned the Tedisco Fitness Trail, stained benches for Front Street, stained picnic tables for Kelly Park, and the Boy Scouts joined us to clean the Old Iron Spring Park.
Our club had the pleasure of presenting a check from our Pre-School Mini Grant program to support the preschool program at Spa Christian School in Ballston Spa. Receiving the donation is school Administrator Mandy Klint, along with Rotarians Ray Otten, Jere Blackwelder and Alice Benfey.
Today we donated 50 backpacks for kindergarten students filled with the supplies they need for the school year.
