A special message from Rotarian Doug Ford, organizer of our Christmas Tree Sale:
As we bring 2021 to a close I would like to take this opportunity to “Thank” a few individuals, organizations and businesses that helped us overcome the financial impact from this year’s Christmas Tree shortage. Annually we sell approximately 750 trees but were only able to get 160 trees due to the shortage. What could have been a very devastating situation resulted in a hugely successful outcome. As a result, the Ballston Rotary Club is able to maintain our level of financial support to many local organizations that desperately rely on our contributions to provide food, services and support for many in our local community.
First and foremost I would like to thank Todd Shimkus and his team at the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce for coming to our rescue and organizing a virtual Christmas Tree sale that not only raised a large sum of money but also helped us get the word out to the many people who faithfully buy a Christmas Tree from us annually. We also had three community partners who stepped up in a major way with sizable donations, Christ Episcopal Church, Armer Funeral Home, and Curtis Lumber. These organizations consistently provide support to the Ballston Spa Rotary Club in many ways and we are extremely grateful for their generosity. I would also like to thank the Ballston Spa Rotarians, our District Governor Bruce McConnelee and his wife Lorraine and others that supported this initiative in multiple ways, many from behind the scenes. Lastly a special Thank You to the “Grinch” Rotarian Dan Barner for his out of the box thinking and endless support.
Happy New Year!
